Reporting a news story

Look into/Research a current news story. Present a talk about that new story, to enlighten your classmates.

Objectives:

  • Report on the news story, giving a background of the story, so that people who have no prior knowledge of the story, can understand what it is all about.
  • Strive for perfect grammar in your speech.
  • Time for your speech is no more than 5 minutes.
  • Be prepared to answer questions from the audience. (Make sure you understand the story fully)

Attempt to pick an original story (one another student isn't speaking on). If this is not possible, that is fine.

Marks will be given for:

  • Correct grammar
  • Ability to answer resonable questions about the story you choose.
  • Ability to keep the audiences attention
  • Ability to pass on information clearly
  • Previous abilities (Speaking loudly enough, pronouncing words clearly, staying within in the time limit and staying on topic.

Speeches are due and will be presented on Thursday 2nd, July (for 10b)
and Friday 3rd, July (for 11b)
