Providing a service for others

Teacher Charles's picture

Objective:
Come up with a service you could provide in the school (Either to students in your own year, younger students, teachers, the whole school, etc...)

Design:
- Presentation (Powerpoint, Demonstration or *Video)
- Advertisement flyer (So people can be made aware of the service, or apply to be part of the service.)

*Only if you are well organised, as it won't be possible unless before or after school, or during lunch time)

Each student must have worked on either the presentation or flyer and their involvement should be clear

Additional requirements:
Work on this project (after the first day) will not be done during class time, and must not be done during any other classes.
The presentation (which ever form it takes) and advertisement flyer should have the same general feel and the information should be consistant.
To work with one another, this project should be done as homework, with communication done through e-mail, text messages, phone class, etc...
The service should be practical and possible to implement in this school. Detail how it could possibly be implemented (actually provide the service) in your presentation.

Hand up:
- A powerpoint presentation, demonstration or video (Thumb Drive/E-mail/CD-R)
- An advertisement flyer (Printed out/Thumb Drive/E-mail/CD-R)

Deadline:
Friday the 3rd of July, 2009

Marks will be given for the following:

  • Service is implementable (possible to do it at school).
  • Details in presentation/demonstration/video are clear and there are good reasons behind the service you chose.
  • All materials (Flyer, Presentation, etc...) are consistant in design and the information they present to the reader).
  • Presentation, etc... explains cleary, why the service could be useful, how it could be implemented, target group (Teachers, Students, etc..), organisation time to implement the service, etc...
  • Flyer should cleary explain the service (concisely) and be attractive to look at, as people will not look at it otherwise.
  • Grammar. Make sure to check all your work. Get group memebers to look at work you have done as an individual. Try to make sure everything is checked by a at least one other group memeber.
